Meeting was not held in January. E-mail sent out to update committee
- Demonstration planting beds have been installed and planting plan needs to be supplied by landscaper.
- The access trial from the AA County bike trail to the PONP walking trail will need some timbers dug in to control erosion. A layer for the thick stranded mulch will be put down to also keep erosion to a minimum.
- Split rail fence was installed along the PONP access trail to across the stream area. This is the trail off the AA county bike trail.
- The new display cabinet has been installed with meeting dates, notices, and current photos.
- Old display cabinet has repaired and has been installed with a variety of pictures from the preserve.
- We still have some additional information signs which a person can take on as a project. Post are made just need some printed copy made up so we can have our sign person do the graphics.
- Magnetic truck signs to let folks know that the vehicles in the preserve are on preserve business have been made up and Stewart Smith has a set of signs.
- I also had the sign company make up some red arrows that will be added to the map signs which will stand out better than the green "you are here" arrows.
- Extra bird boxes were order and I have not picked them up yet. We need to set up a date for cleaning and install of new boxes on a warm winter day. Helpers needed on this project.
- We have a (2) bike racks installed in the preserve. One additional rack will be install on the other access area to the main walking trail this week.
- Bridge to install ?? 2008 budget may allow for this project.
- We also have (1) additional pet waste to install. I have not checked on this project to see if that was done on the back trail at a fork in the road.
- We also have (2) additional park benches to install. The POCA contractor said it was too wet to install the benches which is very strange ... These benches will be installed this week by On the Green.
